Shaun x Rosetta...this is gunna be a rollercoaster bwahahaha

"Oh God, Wilton?" Rosetta laughed, shaking her head and groaning as she buried her head into Amon's chest. "I should never have reenlisted." She teased. She thought Desmond was hilarious, albeit a bit of a doofus. She liked the feeling of Amon's arm around her, feeling comfortable. "Did you tell the girl from the other night you were getting sent back?"

Amon laughed softly, having heard of the Wilton kid. He was harmless, and that's what worried him. He figured being one of the squad's sniper would be best for him considering.
"I got her voicemail." he said. "I'm sure I'll catch her the next time around."

Rosetta thought of calling Shaun, but would he even care? They hung out one time. She decided not to. When they got on the plane she slept, her head on Amon's shoulder.

Amon went over the briefing on the flight over. It sounded easy enough, which made him worry. He went over tactics again and again until eventually he fell asleep, waking up when they landed.

Shaun was in Iraq, his own team assembled for the job. They were gathering supplies from the local militia which was a lot harder than it looked considering he was as american as they came. Eventually they came to some agreement and they had enough gear and then some.

Rosetta knew very little about the mission. When they landed she went to greet Desmond. The next morning she helped get him locked and loaded, the two by the convoy and waiting for Amon.
"Always wear your helmet, even in the humvee. If something does pierce it and ithe ricochets, you want that on." She told Desmond.

Desmond was nervous, but he nodded. He trusted the both if them, he knew he was in good hands.
"Yes, ma'am." He said making sure his helmet was on properly.

"Alright! Group of everyone." Amon shouted. "We have supplies to bring in to Kirkuk. It's a long drive, so everyone stay frosty."

Rosetta smiled at Desmond and got into the back of the car with him. She was behind the drivers seat, watching Amon climb into it as she helped Desmond get situated. "Ready." She told Amon when they were safe and secure.

Amon nodded and he started up the truck, heading out to the road. He kept his eyes on the road, avoiding many of the crowded, or main streets. There had been problems with car bombs, and ambushes within the past few weeks. It was better to stay safe, than get this done quickly.

Shaun had managed to intercept the itinerary and tried to predict the route the soldiers would take. He had no idea who was in the truck, just knew that everyone in it needed to die for anyone to care. He pulled his mask over his face and signaled the other mercenaries when the truck came up.

Amalia ran forward, waving her hands frantically shouting in arabic for help, gesturing to the nearby cabin.

Rosetta could hear the woman and she leaned forward, looking over Amon's shoulder. Civilians typically did this, sometimes it was legit other times not so much. Typically they used children, so that the soldiers would leave the vehicle only to explode when the bomb on the child's back went off.
"I wouldn't stop." Rosetta said to him softly. "She's young."

Amon looked over the woman. She was wearing the traditional headscarf, so she could have something in there, but then again it could be a legitimate emergency, and who knows how many people travel a long this road.
"Jones, with me." He finally said stopping the vehicle. "Wilton, watch our six, Thomas nine o'clock. We'll be in and out."

They got out of the car and Amon quickly searched the woman, she was clean so he headed over to the cabin, Jones stepped inside first, triggering the trap demolishing the building and sending Amon and the woman flying backwards. This signalled the other team and set off the explosion on the side of the rock, flinging boulders and debree on to the convoy.

"Amon-" Rosetta wanted to argue. It just wasn't safe. They could radio back to base at least. When he stepped out of the convoy she did just that. He could pissed at her later, but for now she was doing what she thought was best. "This is Delta Unit 3, stopping to investigate possible civilian in distress, over." She heard the affirmative, but that was all before she heard the explosion. She grabbed Desmond by the vest and kicked open the back of the humvee. She wanted to get to Amon immediately, and if it had been just her in the truck she would have, but she had to get Desmond to safety first. She jumped down just as the boulder knocked the part top of the humvee down hard.
"Run in a zigzag, to that building." She ordered Desmond, pushing him to get him going. She readied her rifle steady on her shoulder and as the man standing next to Shaun on the roof made a bead on Desmond she saw the light bounce off of his scope. A second later he was nearly headless, fingers twitching before his body crumpled.

Shaun watched the chaos from above. He readying his gun when he felt a spray of blood from the man next to him. He cursed under his breath and quickly moved down the side path, taking cover before sending a spray of bullets to the other unit members that were scrambling out of the convoy. Desmond continued to run, but as he rounded the corner, he was met with the butt of a rifle knocking him back. His head was spinning, trying to get back on his feet when he felt a foot on his chest, and then it was black.

Rosetta watched Desmond, but when he turned the corner she couldn't see him any longer. She hoped he was safe and could find cover. She moved around the humvee and put her rifle around her back before removing her pistol from her ankle strap, eyes trying to find Amon. It was dusty, disorienting. She was so hopped on adrenaline she couldn't really hear. It was like she was underwater. She made a mad sprint for the cabin and flew underneath the lattice as a spray of bullets peppered the ground. As she rolled she hit something, and it took her a moment to realize it was pieces of Jones. He must have been closer to the explosion than Amon had. Please let that be true.

She crawled toward the front and saw Amon's boot, then his leg. He seemed to be intact. Reason left her then, and without really thinking about it she darted out to him and grabbed him by the vest, trying to haul him to safety.

Amon could only hear ringing, his body wouldn't move. He felt movement near him, and he struggled at first only to realize it was Rosetta, and he willed himself to move with her, there was no way she could carry him on her own.

The others of Shaun's team moved quickly down and began shooting, killing the nameless npc squad members in the process. Shaun moved out from cover and he aimed at Rosetta and Amon, firing at them.

Rosetta managed to get Amon away from the killing squad. She watched her team being mowed down, but there was nothing she could do. If she tried to save them she would die. She cried out in surprise when she felt a bullet clip her shoulder, and she immediately covered Amon's body with her own as she aimed and fired back at Shaun.

Shaun quickly moved for cover, being grazed in the arm. He groaned, pushing through the sting he felt. He glanced around at the two soldiers left and he aimed his rifle at them once more, aiming for Rosetta's legs.

Rosetta rolled and faced the man, lifting her gun up. She fired but missed when his bullet hit her in the upper thigh, in the artery. If she could die and just keep Amon alive that was good enough for her. A moment later there was an explosion nearby, and when the dust settled she had been pierced through with shrapnel. She laid next to Amon and held his hand as her vision blurred.

Amon was also hit with the shrapnel , his vision going black as everything overloaded him. Shaun meanwhile waited a moment before rushing out to see the two bodies while his peopme worked on making sure the others were dead. As he came up on Rosetta's body he froze, getting a clear look at her face. His stomach dropped, causing his hands to shake as he aimed the rifle at her to put a bullet between her eyes and Amon's.
"Boss! We got vehicles heading out way!" One of the men said over the radio.

"Alright...let's move out..." He managed to say. He took pictures of the destruction, not that it would matter. The attack would be all over the news. Even if they made it out alive his job was done. Once he was done he ran off into the desert leaving no trace.

Rosetta managed to survive, just barely. She lost a lot of blood, and the shrapnel had pierced a lung. She also had various bullet wounds and a concussion. The doctors decided it would be for her to be in a medically induced coma, and there she remained while she healed.

She woke up months later, demanding to know what had happened to Desmond and Amon. She was so angry she stood, which none of the medical staff was expecting because she had been in bed for so long, and ripped out her IV before throwing the stand at an innocent nurse.

Amon and Desmond were in the room next door. Amon had already been awake a few weeks before, refusing treatment. He came to the point where he was constantly sedated to let his body heal properly, but he didn't care. He was awake when he heard the comotion next door and he slowly made his way over to see a very angry Rosetta.
"Calm down, soldier..." He said trying to smile.

Shaun was visiting Desmond. He had recived the call shortly after that his cousin was injured on the mission and it didn't take long to put two and two together. He didn't have room to feel guilty. He was following orders. He did what he had to do...

The nurse ran past Amon, fleeing while Rosetta was distracted.
Rosetta didn't smile. Was she dreaming? She moved up to Amon slowly, touching his face to make sure he was actually there.
"I thought you..."

Amon shook his head, trying to keep a brave face for her. He held her closely, examining her features.
"It'd take a lot more than shrapnel and bullet wounds to take out this giant..." he whispered.

"I lasted longer than you." She smiled, just barely. "I got Desmond out of the humvee, is he okay?" She whispered, still in shock. For everyone else it had happened months ago, to her it felt like yesterday.

Amon's face fell and he shook his head.
"He's alive...but..." he said his voice trailing off. "Worse off than the rest of us...do you want to see him?"

Rosetta felt pained. She thought she had gotten him out safely, but he was worse off. Her throat itched, it took her a moment to realize she was tearing up. She nodded, putting on her slippers and robe.
