Shaun x Rosetta...this is gunna be a rollercoaster bwahahaha

Rosetta understood.
"No, we never really are." She said. "The things we've seen and done, we can never really just be normal civilians again. I get that." She whispered. "But we can try to make it a little easier. Would beating up on Wilton help?" She offered, trying to get him to laugh.

Shaun nodded, before smirking at her suggestion.
"Nah, the kid deserves a break." He said. "Besides...I think I'd rather spend some time with you...if that's alright."

Rosetta was glad for once in her life that she was black. She could feel the heat rush to her cheeks, but she knew it'd be faint. She loved spending time with him, even just watching crappy movies, but she thought saying that would be strange.
"Of course. I like having you around." She smiled. I love having you around.

For a moment, Shaun lost himself, leaning in closer to Rosetta, but he froze. He was dangerously close to her face. What the fuck was he doing...she didn't feel that way, HE shouldn't feel this way.

Rosetta smiled faintly as he leaned in. She had kissed two people in her life, Jackson Rivers when she was seven, and Amon, but as he leaned in she knew she wanted to add one person to that list. When he froze she leaned in and met him halfway, pressing her lips lightly against his.

Shaun's mind was telling him to stop, but his body was clearly ignoring him. He kissed her tenderly, almost afraid he'd break her if he put everything into it. After a moment he pulled away, yellow eyes locked on tan.

"I figured I'd help you with the last few millimeters." She whispered, smiling once he broke the kiss. She brushed her fingers along the underside of his jaw gently, treating him just as carefully as he treated her.

Shaun blushed furiously and he glanced away.
"Well...I didn't know if it was a good idea..." he whispered. "Considering we are roommates and all."

"Barrett." She said, using her finger to tip his eyes back to hers. "Don't overthink it. Just go with it. Also, now that you know how I feel, I was going to tell you not to bury the suit. You probably look amazing in it."

Shaun couldn't help but chuckle and he got up from the bed. He moved to the pictures in his closet and brought out a black book, flipping to the first page. The first few images were graduation day, Desmond took most of the photos being the only one to show up. He was in his dress uniform, standing tall and proud.

"You be the judge." he smirked.

Rosetta took the book from him, smiling. She hadn't had anyone attend her ceremony. She had a picture she had taken in the mirror before but that was it. She pretended to turn the book this way that, really studying it, just to make him blush. He did look handsome as ever though.
"Definitely don't bury it." She told him.

Shaun shook his head at her, letting her rummage through the book. It was filled with pictures from his tours, all of his different squad-mates.
"Yes, ma'am." he said.

Rosetta moved onto the bed and rolled, so that she was on her stomach. She flipped through the pages, smiling softly.
"You looked so happy." She told him, looking up at him over her shoulder.

Shaun laid down next to her, looking at the pictures with her.
"It was the first time I felt like I had a family." he said. "I felt at home, even thousands of miles away."

The last picture was his last group, all of them dead, leaving Shaun the only survivor. Shaun had hunted down the people who killed them, slaughtering every single one of them. He didn't care who was in his way, he just wanted them dead.

Rosetta's shoulder leaned into his as he settled in bed next to her.
"I know that feeling." She said quietly. "Is this you most recent group?" She asked him, he didn't look that different in the photograph. "They look like a fun group."

Shaun nodded, taking the book and looking over the picture.
"We spent almost a year together...Longer than any other squad." he said. "But...well...shit happens..."

He got up from the bed and tossed the book back into the closet. You would think getting revenge would make him feel better, but it didn't. It cost him his job for the time being, it cost him his sanity, feeling the need rise in him like hunger, or thirst.

Rosetta could guess the ending, knowing Shaun now. She frowned, sitting up as he moved to the closet.
"Amon stopped me." She said quietly. "I wanted to kill them all. Hunt them down. Instead I ended up talking to you that day."

Shaun swallowed hard, glancing over at her. If she killed him the way he killed his attackers...maybe she'd better, or maybe she'd end up like him.
"Wish I had you after everything..." he smirked.

"You have me now." She smiled lightly. Rosetta was fiercely loyal. If anyone tried to hurt Shaun now, she would probably kill them. "We'll work through our shit together. And with Desmond I guess." She laughed.

Shaun chuckled and he nodded.
"Yeah, we can't forget Des..." he laughed. "Come on, let's go see what the bigfoot is up to without us...probably elbow deep in potato salad..."

Months past. Rosetta was house shopping, but she was torn. She wanted to stay close to Shaun, but she didn't want to burden him. She hadn't told him, but she was looking at a cute house with three bedrooms. She knew she was falling for Shaun more and more each day, but that scared her. She did love days that they lazily stayed in his room, kissing and laughing. When he traveled she still feared the worst, but she knew that was because of the attack.

That afternoon after dinner she was laying in his bed, debating on telling him about the house.

Shaun was picked up by Arcadia on his way home from one of his assignments. He was offered a job, private military sector. He'd be making a lot more money for the shit he was practically doing now. It would require him to move back south, but he thought about Rosetta. He shouldn't be doing this.

When he walked into his room he saw Rosetta and he couldn't help but smile, setting his bags down and moving in to lay next to her, wrapping his arms around her. Dammit, Shaun, stop feeling so...relaxed around her.
"This is a nice surprise..." he whispered as he kissed her.

Rosetta smiled as she felt his arms around her, rolling so that she was facing him. She kissed him lazily, her fingers on his neck.
"I'm surprised you're still surprised to find me in your bed." She laughed quietly, her feet touching his. "How was work?"

Shaun chuckled as he returned the kiss, shrugging his shoulders.
"Ah well, it's always a nice surprise to find a beautiful woman in your room." he whispered. "It was alright...the end was more eventful...mostly because Arcadia called me."

Rosetta raised her eyebrows, a little nervous. Was he going away again?
"What'd they say?" She asked.
