Because Lefora is Down

Aeris rolled her eyes at him, playfully shoving him. Possibly said yes? Yeah, it was a good idea that she had told him she wasn't proposing. She might as well, in a way. She was never going to love anyone else, just being realistic. He was the only man she had ever loved deeply, her only sexual partner. No one else could possibly fill his shoes. Still though, that didn't mean they were meant to be together. They had sort of decided the morning after the drunken sex that it was over, had to be over for Sora. 
"I think you'll live." She whispered.

Cloud put a hand over his heart and he made a wounded face.
"No! I shant go on!" he said pretending to faint. "Thy maiden has refused mine hand...however shall I go on?!"

"Cloud!" Aeris laughed, finally tackling him off of the sofa. She tumbled on top of him, laughing still. God, she loved him. Who the hell was she kidding? "You know I'm never going to love anyone else but you, right?" She said quietly, the laughter fading.

Cloud burst into laughter and he laughed even harder when he was tackled off the sofa. When she spoke, his eyes softened and he cupped her face tenderly.
"I know." he whispered. "I could say the same to you. You're the only person I could ever think seriously about."

Maybe they should just get married. Shit, when they were living together they were married in everything but name. She closed her eyes before she leaned in to kiss him, her fingers cupping the back of his neck. Maybe not married. Maybe they could just slowly get back together into...whatever they had been in. Maybe it was a bad idea. 
"Why are we so fucking complicated?" She smiled against his lips, frustrated with herself.

Cloud kissed her softly and he caressed her cheek.
"I don't know, blue eyes." he whispered. "Life is complicated...I just know I'd give anything to have you home again."

Aeris's eyes softened when he finished his sentence, and after a moment she nodded.
"I'd like to come home, too." She whispered. The apartment had never felt like home. Nothing did. Cloud made it a home for her.

Cloud smiled softly then, nodding.
"Then let's do it then." he whispered. "But slowly, we don't want Sora to have a heart attack from excitement."

Aeris laughed, still getting butterflies in excitement after all of these years. 
"Okay. Slowly, and-" She sat up Indian style. "-if we have problems we just have to solve them. No more running away. I promise." She told him.

Cloud moved to sit up, and he nodded.
"Right, no more running away and-" He leaned closer to her, giving her a quick kiss. "-a little more of that, too?"

Aeris smiled, kissing him back. She ran her fingers through the side of his hair before crawling into his lap, her head on his shoulder.
"A lot more of everything." She whispered.

Meanwhile, Rosetta had been cleared to take Shaun home as it had been hours. She got him home, trying to get Lancelot not to maul him. The dog had been learning more manners, but he was still hyper. Aidan was dead tired, dozing on his feet, so Rosetta tucked him in. She helped Shaun up the stairs and onto their bed before crawling in next to him. She ran her fingers over his cheek, and unable to help it, started crying.
"I thought I lost you." She whispered.

Shaun was still a bit out of it from the pain medicine, but he was still kinda there. When they got into bed he , wrapped an arm around her and kissed the side of her head tenderly.
"I told you I'd come back...even if I am missing a kidney now." He whispered, trying to lighten the mood. "Guess we can't sell it for profit anymore..."

Rosetta smiled, sniffling as she laughed softly.
"We'll have to rely on something else for our get rich quick scheme now." She whispered, carefully putting her arm around him, away from his sutures. "I don't know how I held it together for Aidan." She admitted.

Shaun chuckled and he shook his head at her. He lightly caressed her hair, a deep sigh escaping his lips.
"Cause you're a tough cookie." he smirked. "I don't know how you do most things."

"By thinking of you." She whispered. "I'm not nearly as strong without you as you think I am." She kissed him lovingly, her thumb sweeping over his pulse. "Cloud found you and brought you to the hospital. I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't been there. I should have gone with you."

Shaun frowned slightly, remembering the mission. The targets were all dead, so...Arcadia tried to have him killed. Well, at least now, if Cloud managed to do it, they'd think he was dead.
"I should send him a fruit basket." he chuckled. "And no...you shouldn't have. I'm glad you stayed with Aidan."

"Aidan would have been safe with Aeris, I could have at least provided cover fire." She whispered. "A fruit basket?" She smiled, shaking her head. "You're funny."

"It wasn't something you could cover me from." Shaun whispered. "They shot me in the back. I didn't...I didn't even see it coming..."

Rosetta frowned. She was torn between keeping Shaun in the house for the next century, or going out and killing all of Arcadia one by one. She wasn't sure which one was more impossible.
"Do they think you're dead now?"

Shaun nodded.
"Cloud woulda made sure of it..." he whispered, trusting the man. "I doubt they'll go checking...but if they do...we should move."

Rosetta frowned. She liked their home, and Aeris, but Shaun was right. Aidan wasn't in school yet, a move wouldn't be difficult.
"Okay. We'll monitor them for a while. Aeris might know how to spy better than I do."

Shaun nodded, thinking this was a pretty good plan.
"Guess our mini you plans are on hold for a bit then, huh?" he whispered.

Rosetta frowned. She wanted another, but it wasn't like she was getting too old or anything. It was already scary enough, all of the uncertainty with Aidan.
"You just lost a kidney and you're already thinking about baby making." She couldn't help but smile. "It's okay. We'll make her someday."

Shaun laughed and he lightly trailed his hand down her back.
"Hey, with you, I could be hooked up to the dialysis machine and I'd still want some." he whispered.

Rosetta blushed, biting her lip as she shook her head at him. She had majorly loosened up in the bedroom compared to when they first started having sex. She wanted Shaun whenever she could get him, essentially wherever she could get him.
"That sounds so hot. You know how to get me all revved up." She teased, moving closer to him when she felt his fingers on her back.
