Shaun x Rosetta...this is gunna be a rollercoaster bwahahaha

Desmond groaned slightly, but he hugged her back, chuckling.
"Yeah, I caught his monologue about Humvee...geez. I'm surprised I didn't drink after that." he said. "Who else made it out?"

"Just you, me, and Sanders." She said quietly, letting go of the hug. "Jones, Wahsek, they...it was really bad Desmond. They're giving us all purple hearts, and we can be honorably discharged if that's what we want. Full benefits and pay for the rest of our lives."

Desmond looked at Rosetta in disbelief. He stumbled slightly, and Shaun helped him sit down, keeping his eyes down to the floor. Desmond rubbed his temples, images flashing in his head as he relived that day. Should he have stayed behind? Would that have made a difference?
"Shit..." he finally got out.

"Yeah." She said after a moment. "I didn't know Shaun was your cousin. If I was related I definitely wouldn't have flown overseas for your ass." She teased, laughing. She didn't want him to be so overwhelmed right when he woke up.

Desmond looked up Shaun and he smiled, nudging him.
"I know right, what a fucking dumbass." he teased.

"Oh well, I can just leave you here." Shaun threatened.

Rosetta laughed at their exchange, shaking her head.
"I would never have guessed you two were related." She told Shaun. "I mean, Desmond clearly inherited the wit and the looks."

Shaun raised his eyebrows and glanced over at Desmond. He shook his head and stood up.
"Huh, wonder why you never got a date until you turned seventeen." he said sticking his tongue out.

"I was saving myself for marriage." Desmond responded. He glanced over at Rosetta and he winked. "But just know I always get my girl."

Rosetta laughed, shaking her head. She hadn't had sex yet, so Desmond's "old" dating age seemed fine to her. Hell, she hadn't even been kissed until she twenty.
"You have plenty of time to your girl Des, don't worry. I figured you'd be forty so you're on track."

Desmond gave her his goofy grin and he reached for Rosetta's hand.
"How about you be my girl, huh?"

"Woah there cowboy..." Shaun said shaking his head.

Rosetta raised her eyebrows, laughing.
"Shaun beat you to it. We went on a date a few months ago." She told Desmond, managing to not blush somehow. "One upped again."

Desmond snapped his fingers and he shook his head.
"Dammit..." he mumbled, moving back into the bed now. "Just leave me here in my shame."

Shaun did blush a bit.
"Maybe we can go on another then." he said giving her a smirk.

Just then Amon came in, looking between the three of them. His eyes were filled with relief, moving over to them.
"The nurse told me you were awake."

Rosetta laughed, looking up at Amon as he came in. She heard Shaun and blushed, honestly not opposed. But then...Amon...
"He's awake and still a doofus." She informed him.

"Damn, I told the doctors to make sure they took care of that part." Amon said chuckled. "Guess they didn't take it seriously."

"What do you mean, I'm perfectly serious!"

Rosetta laughed, feeling normal for the first time since the attack.
"Uh huh, sure." She teased. "I told him we're set for life no matter if we reenlist or choose to be discharged." She told Amon. "How'd your visit with Tifa go?"

Amon shrugged his shoulders. In truth they fooled around, probably causing the nurse's to have a panic attack when his heart monitor went nuts, but he wasn't going to tell Rosetta that.
"You know, as well as one could expect." he said.

Rosetta raised her eyebrows, tempted to ask questions but also not wanting to know.
"Uh huh. Desmond here was just saying how he was also a ladies man so I guess the room is filled with players."

Amon raised his eyebrows and he shrugged his shoulders. He didn't know Shaun well enough to joke around with, so he simply smiled.
"Well shit..." he said. "We should form a club."

Rosetta shook her head, looking between the three of them.
"What are you doing out of bed!" The head nurse demanded to know, staring at Desmond. "All of you! Well, not you." She said to Shaun. "Get back to your rooms!"

Desmond looked up at the nurse and he began to pout.
"But moooom." he whined. "I've been in a coma for like...months. Let me have some kind of social life."

Rosetta put her hand over her mouth to try to keep from giggling but it was no use. She burst out laughing, shaking her head.
"I said out!" The nurse yelled, fuming.
"Jesus lady, who pissed in your wheaties?" Rose asked her, but she was leaving. She stepped out and looked up at Shaun, smiling slightly. "I can technically leave any time now."

Amon shook his head, making his way out of the room. He was tired anyway.

Shaun decided to let Desmond rest, following Rosetta out. He looked over to her and he tilted his head.
"Where you headed then?"

"I don't know." She admitted. "I've always lived on base. I guess I can stay on there while I hunt for a place. I think the Marines will pay to fly me back home."

Shaun nodded, leaning against the wall.
"Yeah, they should with all the shit you guys have been through..." he said.

"What about you?" She asked him. "Going to take in Desmond for a while and just chill?"

Shaun nodded.
"Yeah, as soon as the doctors clear him." he said. "He's more than welcome to stay if he decides to leave. Do you have a place to stay when you get back state-side?"
