Shaun x Rosetta...this is gunna be a rollercoaster bwahahaha

"I know. I didn't know when I left that day. Then I missed a period and I started getting sick and I just knew." She said quietly. "I haven't really fully accepted it yet either." She admitted, fiddling with her shirt.
The baby pressed his hand against Shaun's.

Shaun frowned and he removed his hand when he felt the baby press up against him once more, feeling strange. He looked into Rosetta's eyes, unsure.
"Wow..." He mumbled

Rosetta bit the inside of her cheek. How much should she tell him? That she read to the baby every night, that she hoped he looked like Shaun, that she sometimes held her belly so she didn't feel so alone.
"It's a boy." She told him after a moment.

Shaun smiled at the thought of having a son, but he was also worried. What if he was no better than his own father? Not like he could go to him for advice on the matter, and he didn't want to fuck the kid up.

"How long are you staying here?" Rosetta asked, sensing the awkward silence approaching. "I was looking at places when you called." She admitted. "I could try to find some place temporary nearby if you'd like. I don't have to though." She said quickly, not wanting to rush or push him into anything.

Shaun shrugged his shoulders.
"Since I voluntarily committed myself...I can leave whenever I want..." he said. "But I want to give it a month or so...see if anything helps."

"I think that's good of you." She said softly, twisting her fingers together.
"Ma'am? Visiting hours are over now." The nurse said from the door, not unkindly.
"I better go." Rosetta told him, hugging him tightly once more. "You can call me any time. I'm away from Amon so no more hiding."

Shaun looked up and he frowned. He didn't want her to leave. He hugged her, nodding as she spoke.
"Okay..." he whispered. "Thank you...for coming.."

Rosetta came back every day during visiting hours. Sometimes she even brought him sweets, that she had to leave at the front desk so that they could be checked. She also left him ultrasound pictures, updates about the baby, and a picture of them from their time in China. She didn't want him to feel totally alone in his room. That day, she had moved her chair next to his and was leaning up against his side, having brought a book of brain teasers.
"I was thinking about Aidan for his name." She told him. "What do you think?"

Shaun appreciated the company, it could get pretty lonely here, even though the staff were friendly. He kept the pictures up in his room giving him some kind of motivation that this was good, it was good that he was getting help.

When Rosetta spoke about the baby, he tilted his head.
"Aidan..." He said thoughtfully. "Yeah I like it."

Rosetta smiled softly, looking up at him.
"I was thinking Aidan Corbin, but I didn't know how you felt about last names." She told him. At least with Shaun's middle name he would have a part of Shaun's name even if Shaun didn't want him to have his last name.

Shaun smirked slightly, and he thought about it for a moment.
"Well...I wouldn't mind, if you didn't." He said after a bit. "He's starting to grow on me."

"You mean he's growing on me." She said, laughing. She had gotten a tiny bit bigger and she was no longer wearing the band or loose clothes all the time. "I don't mind at all. Aidan Corbin Barrett it is."

Shaun chuckled and he nodded. Without thinking, his hand moved over her bump. He didn't tell Rosetta that the month was almost up, mostly because he wasn't sure if he was staying or leaving yet.
"Yeah...he sounds tough."

Marcus was head of the police department in Bridgeport. Being the chief, he was relatively unopposed. He had his hands in everyone's pockets, and he controlled much of the surrounding police forces too. He had lost his only son early in life, and he had never gotten over it. Instead he had gotten a rebellious, rotten girl, that had never amounted to anything in his eyes. But maybe she could make it up to him.
"Sir?" The nurse said over the line, thinking she lost him.
"I'm here. A boy you said?" He said, writing this down. "Does it mention who fathered the child?"

Rosetta had stood up to pee in the middle of the night when she realized her nightgown was soaked. She stood puzzled for a moment in the bathroom light, looking back toward the bed.
"Shaun? I think my water broke." She told him casually.

Shaun was half asleep, rolling over as Rosetta spoke. He grumbled for a moment before sitting up to look at her, not entirely grasping what she meant.
"It's fine, just get another bottle..." he mumbled, moving to lay down.

Rosetta stepped into the shower and shed her nightgown. She washed herself off before dressing in loose scrubs and packing her bag, counting the time in between contractions. Once she had the car loaded up she brought the keys to Shaun, rubbing his shoulder.
"Shaun? I need you to drive me to the hospital, the baby's coming." She said softly.

Shaun had fallen back to sleep when he felt Rosetta wake him. He glanced up at her for a moment, the only words registering were 'take' and 'hospital.'
"Oh....oh!" he exclaimed, jumping out of bed. He quickly got dressed. "Where's your bag? Where the hell are my keys?"

"It's okay, Shaun." She laughed, putting her hand over her belly. "I loaded up the car, and I brought you your keys." She told, handing them to him. She walked with him albeit slowly, slipping on her flip-flops and getting in the passenger side.

Shaun blushed slightly, and he took the keys, walking with her to the car. Once inside, he drove to the hospital, doing his best not to go into panic mode.

Once Rosetta was all checked in and Shaun had finished the paperwork, he was sanitized, robed and led to her. The labor went smoothly, Aidan was born within the hour. The doctor cleaned out the baby's nose and eyes, before handing him to Shaun and clamping the cord.

"Dad's do the honors." He told Shaun, handing him the medical scissors.

Aidan was caramel colored, with little flexing fingers and pea toes. He kicked Shaun lightly as the man held him, but he was unusually quiet for a newborn. He opened his eyes, and they were just as yellow as Shaun's.

Shaun held Rosetta's hand the entire time, mostly for his own comfort it seemed since she seemed to be fine. When the doctor handed him Aidan, he cut the cord before looking into yellow eyes. He was amazing...

Rosetta sat up, peering over Shaun's arm. She put her arm on his, wanting to see the baby.
"Does he look like you? I think I see some red..." She smiled, referring to the peach fuzz of red hair Aidan did indeed have.

Shaun looked at Rosetta and he grinned, before moving so that she could see the baby.
"He has my eyes too." he said softly. "Everything else is you though. He's too cute."

Rosetta smiled softly at the baby, reaching out. He curled his little fingers around her finger, and she fought the urge to cry. He was just so perfect. It was as though every hell she and Shaun had ever been put through was atoned for.
"Hey you. We've been waiting for you to show up." She said, his little legs kicking as he heard her voice.
