Shaun x Rosetta...this is gunna be a rollercoaster bwahahaha

Shaun took a step towards Rosetta, but Amon aimed his gun at him.
"Don't." He snarled, moving closer.

"Get out of my way...." Shaun threatened. If he didn't have Rosetta, what was the point? He might as well die fighting.

"Amon!" Rosetta snapped, putting her hand on his arm to get him to lower the weapon. She may have felt hurt, confused, angry, and sad, but that didn't mean she wanted Shaun dead. She looked at Shaun as he stepped forward, shaking her head. Did she even know him? "Let's go." She said to Sanders, her eyes pleading with Shaun to stay put.

Shaun looked at Rosetta as she spoke to Amon. Don't leave me...

Amon looked at Rosetta and then back at Shaun. He didn't know what to do, but he wanted to keep Rosetta safe. He lowered the weapon and nodded. Reaching for his phone to call the police.

"I already did." She told Amon, her eyes completely truthful, but in reality she hadn't. "When you called me to send them to Lexington, they were dispatching someone here as well in case he came back." She stepped around him and outside of the apartment, trying to keep it together as she got into the elevator, holding it for Amon.

Amon looked to Rosetta and he nodded, moving out of the apartment. He moved into the elevator and when Shaun heard the ding, he moved into the bedroom and began packing. He wasn't going to stick around, Amon probably had proof pictures. He had to destroy whatever evidence he may have left behind.
"Shit, Amanda." He said. She had to get rid her.

Rosetta slumped against the wall as the elevator moved downward, burying her face in her hands. Who had she been living with for so long? She wiped at her eyes but the tears kept falling. She hated Amon in that moment. They were fine the first time, then he interfered. They had just gotten back to normal, and now here he was to destroy it all again. Logically she knew it was Shaun that was the problem but in the moment she just wanted to blame someone.
"Why do you have to keep telling me these things?" She whispered.

Amanda was still tied up and unconscious. She had gone into shock, not from blood loss but from fear.

Amon frowned and he remained quiet. He felt that if he said anything he would make it worse or make her feel worse. Instead he took her to his hotel and let her do whatever, filing his reports.

Shaun left the city, expecting there to be a manhunt, but there wasn't. He didnt hear sirens, didn't see police, what was going on? He didn't want to go back home, just in case so he stayed at the run down motel.

Rosetta stayed with Amon. She turned her phone off, not wanting to be tempted to text Shaun. She wanted so many answers, but would it even help to know? He probably didn't even know why he did the things she did. She rolled onto her side and looked at the wall, feeling sick with grief and anger. She had forgiven him for killing her squad, which others would have thought were impossible, so if she forgave him all over again did that make her a push-over? Did it make her crazy? How much could one person forgive before they completely lost trust in the other?

Shaun fiddled with his phone, unsure if he should text her. He didn't even know what he could say to her. He tossed his phone away, rolling on to his back.
"Fuck it." He said trying to fall asleep.

Six Months Later

Rosetta had been staying with Amon. She wasn't really speaking much, or doing anything much really. She thought about Shaun all the time, especially when the news was full of a serial killer they had dubbed The Collector. She found a job at a shooting range, cleaning, instructing, and licensing. It wasn't much, but she it covered the cost of what she was paying Amon for rent without her having to dip into her savings.

She had read somewhere that it took half the time of the relationship to get over the other person. Which meant she had an entire six months to go, although she doubted she'd even be over him by then. That afternoon she came home and petted Loki, picking up his rope and tugging him into the living room.
"Hey." She said to Amon. She was dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt, her feet bare with her shoes by the entryway.

Shaun tried not to kill, he really didn't. He was fine once the Arcadia contract was over, and he was going back out on to the field, but the weeks between? He grew anxious, struggling to keep his mind off of Rosetta. He knew where she was, almost showed up to see her before he stopped himself. He was sick, he wanted to get better, he needed.

Amon kept his distance from Rosetta, he was friendly, was there for her but he didn't try to do much else. He was sitting in the living room when he heard Rosetta.
"Hey." He said. "How was work?"

Rosetta sat down on one of the couches across from him, petting the dog.
"It was okay." She told him. She felt awkward around Amon most days. "Should we get out of the house tonight?"

Amon shrugged his shoulders.
"I have to process in the rest of the recruits, I don't know how long that'll be." He said. "You can go if you want. Don't wait up because of me."

Rosetta nodded. She spent most of the day just reading and playing with Loki, checking in on Amon once before she went out that night. She had changed into a dress and wore a white sweater over it, her hair down naturally.

The area they lived in had a nice downtown outdoor mall. She just walked with the hordes of people down the sidewalk, enjoying the cool air.

Shaun was nearby, driving. He wasn't far from the house, but he pulled himself back, driving towards the mall instead. Once he was in the parking lot, he started walking, moving through the shops and kiosks to keep his head clear.

She turned the corner to walk down what people referred to candy street, which was where all the chocolate boutiques were, when she nearly collided with Shaun by one of the popcorn kiosks.
"Oh, sorry I-" She began, but then she noticed it was him.

Shaun felt someone bump into him, and he turbed to face them when his heart nearly stopped beating. He stared at her for a moment tempted to run.
"H-hi..."

Rosetta felt all the blood leave her face. It was as if she was looking at him six months, right before she turned to get on the elevator.
"Hey." She said softly after a moment, her voice breaking. "How are you?" She asked.

Shaun felt his heart pound against his chest and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Getting by, you know..." He mumbled. "How have you been?"

Rosetta fiddled with the hem of her sweater, her hands slightly shaking. He had killed people, he tortured them, she had been following him in the news. What if he snapped and killed her? But he had never hurt her. Not even during sex.
Can you not think about that!
"I um...I'm okay." She lied.

Shaun frowned, he knew she was lying. He stepped closer to her, unaware that be was even doing it.
"Are you sure?" He whispered.

Rosetta looked up into his eyes as he stepped closer to her, her heart racing. She nodded slowly, as though she was forcing herself to do so.
"I've been hearing a lot about you." She said softly.

Shaun frowned and he rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.
"I..." He started, but he shut his mouth, moving away from her. "I should go..."

When he moved to go, she slipped her hand into his and shook her head.
"Not without me." She said quietly, and she walked with him. They looked normal, it felt normal. Oh, she had missed him so much.

Shaun jumped when he felt her hand and he looked over at her. Without hesitation he moved in to cup her face with his free hand.
"Ok..." He whispered.
